4/30/2017 0 Comments Better Things to Come...Since the first day I picked up a camera to photograph, I have set my goals high and really truly worked every single day to provide the best possible images. I have come a long way from my very first paid session, to today's sessions. I spend countless hours researching and reading articles, watching free and paid webinars to learn how to perfect techniques. I have spent hours upon hours taking pictures of my children and nature to try to perfect my editing style. When I am not working, I am still working. My life, when not spent with my family, revolves around photography and what I can provide as a photographer. I pour my heart and soul in to every single image I take. I am not perfect and I do have bad days like anyone else, but I try my very best and if I am not satisfied with images, I offer to retake them or I try my best to accommodate the client as much as I possibly can.
I have recently made changes to my website here as well as my Facebook page. Some of my prices have changed and some have stayed the same. I want to keep all my pricing affordable for all my clients. I have added some new images, taken some old ones away and added more information for all of you to have at your disposal. I have done so in hopes of making the booking process for you as easy and stress free as possible. I love to see my clients happy and smiling! You all hold a special place here at Nostalgic Portraits. Without each and every one of you, I would not be where I am today and I truly want to thank you all for your continued support to Nostalgic Portraits and myself. You guys make me want to continue to do amazing things through photography. I have come a long way over these past 8 years and its all because of each and every one of you. So thank you!

4/11/2017 0 Comments KadenceWhile in North Caroline over spring break I had the pleasure of working with Kadence again!
You may remember Kadence from my autism post a few months back. This sweet little angel allowed me to photograph her again! Autism is a difficult disability to work around when photographing and it take serious patience to gain the trust of a child who other wise would could become overstimulated and not allow you to get even on e picture. I have researched endless hours to learn about autism and how to work with children who struggle with sensory issues. I have found that some photographers wont work with children with autism because the word scares them. When in fact, the word is just a diagnosis. Children with autism can be photographed with a little patience and hard work. This applies to teenagers as well as smaller children. I am working currently working on a portrait plan for children with disabilities to provide families who may not other wise get portraits taken, a chance to get pictures of their families. #Autismawareness #Differentnotless #Kadencesportraitpackage 4/11/2017 0 Comments A day with the J. FamilyThis family makes my heart melt.
I have worked with many families over the years that I have been photographing. I have made life long friends and people I may have not met otherwise if it were not for my business. I have known Kaye my whole life and she is such a beautiful young woman. Photographing her family makes my heart swell with joy and such beauty. I am blessed to be able to watch her grow from a young woman, to a wife and then to a mother. I love being able to follow families and document the growth of their love. It is such an amazing experience when you have families come back to you year after year to update their family portraits and document new life events. This is one family I hope to always be able to photograph and watch their little family grow. Another beautiful reason why I love my job... 4/11/2017 0 Comments Newborn Session With Baby L.There is nothing more precious than a new baby. The way they smell, their sweet little faces and the way their little fingers curl tightly around yours. All the more reason why you want the absolute best photographs to remember those times forever.
With a new baby comes absolute joy. This is why one of my favorite types of sessions would have to be newborn sessions. Photographing a newborn is one of the most difficult sessions I have ever tried to master. They are small and so fragile and they also have their own little personalities already at such a young age. This means they may not want to be wrapped or lie on their little tummies or they may be more comfortable with their hands by their faces. Which was this case with this beautiful baby boy. Although he was not comfortable with the poses that Mom and I had in mind he laid quietly in the positions that he was most comfortable for us to get these beautiful shots of him. No matter what position the little ones like or do not like I try my best to make sure that all my clients walk away with images that they absolutely love. This little guy was so tiny and so sweet. As long as we let him get comfy he would lay there and let me get the portraits that Mom came to me for. I love what I do and moments like this are why! Each one of my clients are special to me, however my tiniest of clients are what make my job so rewarding! |
